Frottage is a dual-site exhibition unfolding across Barbara Baryżewska Studio and Gray Mandorla Studio in Poznań, bringing together artists connected through overlapping communities shaped by migration, collectivity, and queer experience; the project takes its title from the technique of frottage, based on contact, friction, and the transfer of surface, extending this principle into a curatorial structure in which all works are conceived as two-part forms distributed between the two locations, including diptychs, divided installations, and composite gestures that require movement between the studios in order to be fully perceived, not as separate elements but as systems oriented toward each other, generating tension, attraction, and meaning across distance, a logic that mirrors the relationship between the two spaces themselves, which maintain autonomy while operating within a shared field of exchange and co-presence.
